Global pharmaceutical firm supports

contract operations with LearningGuide

LearningGuide has provided a large global pharmaceutical firm with an on line electronic performance support solution for its Contract Operations software applications, IDEAL and DOCUMENTUM and related desktop software.

The company’s Contract Operations department uses the Documentum and Idea software applications to help it to process and to manage a large amount of operational data and contract documentation and makes use of Microsoft Access and Excel to analyze and present information. The company had been providing classroom courses for its workers in the use of these applications. To better support workers in the workplace, as software and procedural queries arise, the company commissioned LearningGuide to develop an on line support system containing learning objects covering the essential tasks carried out by the Contract Operations department.

Around 60 custom learning objects covering the company’s use of the Documentum and Ideal software applications were built and set within a LearningGuide support system. LearningGuide’s Microsoft Office learning and support content library was also added, providing the Contract Operations department with a single reference and support resource for its desktop environment.

In addition to the workers accessing the system as needed, the Contract Operations’ in house training team is using the LearningGuide material as the courseware for their classroom courses. Instead of now covering a wide variety of applications features the courses are now shorter: providing an overview of the key application features along with instructions for workers on how to learn and support themselves using their LearningGuide. A key benefit from the system is that workers will spend less time away from their work on courses and will resolve more day-to-day queries themselves without frequently referring to the helpdesk.

Documentum
Learning and support for the company’s use of the Documentum application includes: an overview of the application, logging in, menu structure and navigation and setting preferences; using business objects and reporting; the workflow process, creating documents, reviewing, processing, approving and rejecting documents and managing document versions; document profiles and indexes; searching

Ideal
Learning and support for the company’s use of the Ideal application includes: and overview of the application and terminology; using the Prescription Level Data Scrubbing System (ECP); changing views, formatting and sorting data; working with submissions, validating submissions, errors and reconciliation claims; working with audit reports, plan reports, error reports and performance reports.

Microsoft applications
