Features

Working with LearningGuide Manager is easy and fast. LearningGuide Manager offers a wealth of many possibilities and functions for developers of workplace performance support systems.

Multi-user accessMulti-user access
LearningGuide Manager is a multi-user application. This means that more then one user can work on the same project at the same time. Each user requires their own LearningGuide Manager license.

    • The ‘Author’ field shows the username of the person who modified the topic last.
    • The ‘Status’ field shows the user the topic’s stage in the development process. Users may filter this field to list topics by their ‘status’.
    • In the ‘Annotation’ field authors may place remarks for fellow developers about a particular topic; annotations are not shown in published versions of topics.
    • With the ‘Flagged’ field several markings can be added to a topic to attract the attention of others in the developer team to this specific topic.

Recognizable user interface
LearningGuide Manager’s user interface is similar to that of Outlook 2003. This applies to both the ‘look and feel’ as well as the menus, taskbar and navigation.

  • Adjustable taskbars
Users are able to create and adjust taskbars themselves and turn them on or off as they please.
  • Direct link
Direct links in the navigation window provides quick access to the Table of Contents, Publications and other important application components.
  • Speed keys
LearningGuide has several speed keys to execute common actions or taskbar actions.
  • Joining or separating cells
Users may execute this action on cells in the same column or row.
  • Table format
In some tables the width of the columns and the height of the rows can be adjusted, just like the views in Microsoft Outlook, simply by dragging the column and row separators.

Direct editing
Edit topics in LearningGuide Manager directly from within the publication.
By clicking on the topic title or link in the publication, the specific topic will be opened in LearningGuide Manager and all necessary modifications can be executed.

Variable text fields
Create variable text fields, for use across multiple topics and an entire publication.
Content of text fields may be adjusted and managed from a central location within the project. This will save a lot of time when publishing the same LearningGuide in which only the variable text fields differ.

Table of Contents
In LearningGuide Manager several Tables of Contents (TOC) can be made visible at the same time. These TOC’s will be shown beneath each other in a list on the left side of the screen. Users can simply move menu’s and topics from one TOC to the other. A TOC can also be copied. Topics can directly be dragged from the ‘Topic List’ to the right spot in the Table of Contents.

Topic list

  • Advanced selecting mode
The filter, selecting and shifting mode enables users to navigate quickly and easily through projects.
  • Filter mode
Users may apply a filter on every field in the Topic List.
  • Shifting topics
Users can shift topics by ‘author’, ‘topic type’, ‘category’, ‘title’ and ‘modify date’ by dragging the column header in the upper section of the Topic List.
  • Sub-shifting
By clicking another column header while pressing down the ‘Shift’ key users can create a sub-shift within an already created shift.
  • Mark topics
In the Topic List users may mark topics with different flag colors (also view multi-user access).
  • Adjust Topic List
To create more working space the Topic List columns can be removed or added from the current view. A column can be hidden by dragging away the column header.
